UGC urges private universities to join BdREN network

To reach the desired goal of education and research, UGC member Prof. Biswajit Chand urged the private universities of the country to be connected with the BdREN Network.

He made this call as the chief guest at a workshop titled 'Development of private universities through the use of BdREN' held at the auditorium of UGC on Thursday (November 16).

The BdREN Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Taurit presided over the event while, UGC Private University Division Director Md. Omar Farooq spoke as a special guest at the event.

While sopeaking as the chief guest, Professor Biswajit Chand said, 'BdREN is providing various types of digital-services by establishing a world-class network. BdREN is maintaining professionalism in providing these services and developing software applications to speed up the activities of UGC. Private universities in the country can consider taking the services of BdREN to advance education and research.'

UGC Director Omar Farooq urged CEO BdREN to take steps to bring the quality services of BdREN to the doorstep of private universities.

BDIREN CEO Mohammad Taurit said, BdREN is moving ahead with the slogan 'Research Haven'. Currently, they are providing various services including network, data, hosting identity to 195 organizations. With the help of UGC, BdREN is trying to provide services to public universities as well as private universities by accelerating its activities.

In the workshop, BdREN CTO Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed presented a documentary on the activities of BdREN Trust. Vice chancellors, treasurers, IT directors and related officials of 32 private universities of Dhaka participated in the workshop.
